CITY OF STURGIS

STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA REQUIREMENTS:

SALES TAX PERMIT:

You must file a Temporary South Dakota Sales Tax License Application. after April 1st of the current tax year.

First time vendors are charged a $500 cash bond which is applicable to their sales tax payment.

If you do not wish to obtain the license in advance you may contact

The Department of Revenue at Sturgis City Hall, 1147 Sherman St.,

beginning the week before the rally between the hours of 9am and 3pm.

Sales Tax Rate for Sturgis, Deadwood, Lead, Spearfish, Custer, Hill City, Whitewood, Keystone: 7.5%, Food is 8.5%.

Daily recording of sales is mandatory. You may be audited.

CITY OF STURGIS VENDOR LICENSE:

Before you may apply for your vendor license you need to have your temporary sales tax license (see above).

License is available online at www.sturgismotorcylerally.com or by calling the Rally Department(605 720-0800)

You may purchase the license in person prior to the rally at the City of Sturgis located on Second Street.

City officials will inspect each booth to check the license throughout the rally.

Rally vendor license fee for 2013 is $650 which includes both a $425 license and a $225 sanitation fee.

Fees are paid to the City of Sturgis.

FOOD VENDORS:

MOTOR VEHICLE PERMIT:

All out of state vendors must purchase a 30-day vehicle permit.

Fees are based on the gross vehicle weight of the motor vehicle and trailer.

PARKING:

No Vendor Parking is available at either Prime Rally Rentals building. Parking is a premium during the rally.

Parking may often be found on city side streets. The grocery store or community center also rent parking.

HOUSING - ACCOMODATIONS:

Make arrangements for accommodations well in advance. Lodging is at a premium during the rally.

The Rapid City Regional Airport is located within a hour's drive of Sturgis.
